Happy New Year to all!!! It's a brand new year and I hope we all have sharpened our mindsets. 2020 was a hell of a year! Pandemic, unemployment, fear, and uncertainty shaped the way we work, the way we go to school, the way we shop, and the way we socialize with others. I think we all learned a lesson on the importance of being grateful for what we have. I am blessed and humbled to have maneuvered through 2020 without lacking too much of anything. I published my third title, Being Broke is Expensive, as a guide to help single parents start another stream of income. During this uncertain times, I think it is even more important to not rely on one source of income. Last year, I started a new business: Teacher Jaquita LLC (www.teacherjaquita.com) that has had a successful startup and allowed me to stay at home with my children. As I begin 2021, I am rededicating myself to what I love to do: write! I have several unfinished stories that I want to bring into fruition in this new year. I'll be kicking the year off selling copies of my work in Orangeburg, SC. I'm excited about the change to get out into the community and get my work into the hands of new readers.
This year I want to be open my mind and constantly be on the lookout for opportunities. I am inspired by so many writers and I know that consistency breeds success. What will you be more consistent about this year?
I look forward to sharing my work globally. Stay tuned. Jaquita Rideau will be bringing some new entertainment to your year. Steamy romances, tragic love stories, and a social commentary on colorism are just among the few works I plan to release.
